SCP is an award winning retailer, regularly voted as one of London’s finest design shops. When we launched we contacted Sheridan Coacley, scp's forward thinking founder and owner, who embraced our story and suggested an exclusive collection. So he brought into the project internationally acclaimed UK designer Donna Wilson who designed peaks & blocks. Of course for People of the Sun this was a dream come true!

 

We sent Donna a series of videos and images to understand the process of basketweaving in order to design the products. She sent us her drawing, which we printed in 1:1 scale and gave them to the weavers. Initially Mango Club weavers were scared with the intricate patterns as they had never done something so difficult. But once the first correct prototypes started to emerge, the rest was history.
